Rocks and dirt

When I imagine a project the idea is fully formed in my head but still vague in many details. I know through experience that I don’t need to sweat these details for they will easily come as I actually begin work on the project. Today I found about an hour to start the detailed sculpting on my Sign Invitational piece. I started with the rocky dirt banks. I used a variety of tools including my fingers, crumpled tinfoil, a sharpened popsicle stick and a couple of other basic pointy clay sculpting tools. I’m liking the effect so far and can hardly wait to see how it works out as I sculpt around the piece in the next days. Stay tuned…
