Upgrade time

It's been three and a half years since my last desktop computer upgrade. The old Mac still runs great and has given me no trouble but with two program upgrades behind it there was a need for a boost in performance and RAM. The new, latest and greatest, shiny iMac that is loaded to the max with RAM will do just that. The newly developed screen and graphics are simply amazing. The 'old' computer will move to Janis' office for book keeping.

Transferring everything to the new computer is relatively painless for they sync beautifully. But rather than simply transfer everything over it was time to sort through three and a half years of files and get rid of what is no longer needed. I've spent a good chunk of the last three days going through the endless pile of drawings, photographs, letters, notes and files, deleting what is no longer wanted or needed and then transferring the desired files to the shiny new iMac.

The task of going through the myriad of files is a job I enjoy. It reminds me of all the cool work we've been able to tackle in the last while. There are many designs, some not finished but still good which never made the cut or got the go ahead for some reason or other. There are also the many. many photographs I take daily of each and every project, some of which get posted to this and other blogs I write. Each file brings back memories of people I've worked with and bumped into along the way.

The last three and a half years have been a fun journey. Now, the new computer is ready to begin collecting ideas and memories of the next years.
