Sculpting details

There was lots of things going on in the shop today. I was designing things for the router. Little Matt was welding up a storm on the structures for the log features.

Out in the parking lot big Matt and Peter did the detail concrete work on the steam donkey.

By the end of the day the face of the log on the truck was routed and laminated to it's frame. Little Matt climbed into the log one last time to weld the sign structure into the log frame.

It won't be long until both pieces are sculpted and ready for paint! Stay tuned...

Playing with the mud

With the first workshop now behind us, we were ready for a rest or at least a change, which they say is almost as good. The sun was shining bright this morning, the temperatures warm. It was the perfect chance to do the sculpting on the two pieces which were ready for the process. We started with the cab on the logging truck.

Once the cab of the truck was done we moved onto the steam donkey. Peter is helping us out for a couple of weeks along with a couple of workshop attendees who are waiting for the start of the next workshop so progress has been swift.

Tomorrow we'll pick up where we left off tonight. Stay tuned...

Workshops are FUN!

We have a fabulous crew for this workshop. Our staff has been exceptionally busy the whole time, making sure everything is where it is needed and at the right moment. Janis and her helpers go from morning until late keeping the baking treat trays brimming. The meals have been fantastic.

The workshop has been high energy, with everyone soaking in as much information as humanly possible. The projects they have worked on are wonderful with the bar being continually raised. Everyone is great spirits, there is lots of good humor and laughter.
