Thirty-five years ago, when we first started building mini-golf courses, our crew would do everything except for the electrical and carpets. These days we work smarter, using local contractors for as much as possible and keeping our work to what we do best. In Nebraska, Randy McFarling and his crew are doing the concrete. I had laid out the course with pegs and spray paint, and then we roughed the grades in with a small excavator. This past week, Randy and his crew tweaked the grades and banged in the forms before starting the concrete. Next, they will work with the pool contractor to put in the bridges we prefabricated, and then they can do the connecting ‘fairways’. When I return at the beginning of August, I will finalize the layout for the walkways and place the remaining features. Stay tuned for more progress…
