Riding through the seasons

It has been a fabulous summer for bike rides on the Vedder River trails as often as I was able. I racked up more than fifteen hundred kilometres this year. I started in early spring and enjoyed the forest as it slowly greened up and came alive. It was a delight to see an impressive array of wild flowers bloom and eventually go to seed as the summer progressed. The heat of the summer is now giving way to the cooler days of fall. Freezing temperatures are still many weeks away, but the lack of moisture is already bringing down enough leaves to line the trails. Every ride of each season has been enjoyable, and you can bet the rides will continue until it gets too cold and too wet to enjoy. Then I’ll be counting the days until the next riding session starts…
