The hole marker for one of the pirate themed mini golf greens is a good sized sword that will be stuck firmly into a pumpkin. The sword needs to be extra sturdy as we know from experience that many thousands of guests will give it a tug to see if they can pull it out. The pumpkin will be carved from concrete over a welded steel armature. The 1/4” thick base plate will be securely bolted to a concrete foundation. The sword is just as tough, made from four 1/4” thick plates welded together and round to a sword shape. The sword hilt and handle are made from schedule 40 pipe. The decorative skull is welded up using plasma cut steel and a steel ball. It is as strong and I can make it and it should be qable to handle whatever guests can do to it over many years of use.
Painting a pirate sign
With the sculpting complete, the base coats of paint are going on the Shipwreck Cove sign. By the end of the work week, we’ll hopefully be on to the gold leaf lettering. It is a good-sized sign measuring about four feet wide and almost six feet tall. Stay tuned…
Magical castle
Yesterday morning, there was a beautiful light as the sun came over the mountain, casting the Copper Crown in a wonderful golden glow. I couldn't resist briefly pausing my work to snap this photo. This building is pure magic and will soon be welcoming the first guests to a royal experience. Stay tuned…
