It has been a very busy week of travel! Tuesday was spent getting to the Vancouver airport and then a direct flight to Toronto. The car rental company gave me a very comfortable Mercedes SUV for my driving duties. I headed to Oshawa in rush hour traffic for a quick visit to NEB’s Fun World and then back west to Brampton for the first night. I dropped in on the good folks at Downey’s Family Farm on Wednesday morning before heading North to Kreemore for a quick visit with my brother. Then it was time to head west for a night in St. Thomas. I headed over to Aylmer on Thursday morning to visit our friends at Clovermead Farm before heading east to get to the BOCSI Award Gala in Niagara Falls. This morning, it was time to navigate the freeways of Ontario one last time to get back to the airport for my afternoon flight back home. I got back into Vancouver just in time to do a rush hour commute back to the Fraser Valley. I drove just over a thousand kilometres and flew almost 7,000 kilometres in four days. I had a lot of fun and thoroughly enjoyed the trip, but the best part was pulling back into our driveway.
Two more national honours
The BOCSI (Best of the Canadian Sign Industry) awards gala was this evening, and I was pleased to attend on behalf of the Imagination Corporation. Two of our projects were under consideration for the Sign Systems category. I was pleased to accept the top award for this category, and as a bonus, the Best in Show award. As always, this was possible because of a wonderfully talented crew and a great client (who also installed the project). It was also good to visit with long-time friends in the industry!
Hwy direction sign
Today, I spent too many hours on Toronto’s freeways as I visited our customers who are spread out over southern Ontario. I was delighted to see a series of official highway signs as I approached Downey’s Farm. They featured a simple logo I had designed last year. The Downeys have also implemented many changes throughout the farm over the last year, making it look better than ever! We had a great visit. In the coming months, we’ll begin work on some cool projects for the 2026 season. Stay tuned…
