Henry's Parade float

I planned to get up early this morning to prepare everything, but Henry was already waiting and eager to get going when I arrived. We did our last-minute checks and then headed down the road to the staging area. It was only three blocks distant. Then we had to wait an hour and a half for the parade to start. Although very excited, Henry did awesome! We had walkers on each side of the parade float to hand out our candy and make sure everyone was safe. Henry was in charge of the water gun and the cannon, while I took care of the driving chores.

This year, he was judicious with the water, as he wanted to ration it to last through the entire parade. We planned to space out the cannon shots as well. The water proved to be a huge hit as it was very warm out. The cannon shots surprised everyone and got a huge reaction every time! Henry had a blast! On our way back to our property, he asked if we could get started on next year’s entry. We have it fully planned, of course. You can bet it will be bigger and fancier by far! Stay tuned…

One more sleep until Yarrow Days Parade

It is the day before the Yarrow Days Parade. Henry was more than excited and arrived at the shop after school. We first did a quick wash and shine. We fueled up the motor and filled the water tank. We also finished stapling on a custom padding and seat cover. Then we backed the rig into the shop to check the tires and top up the air pressures. Just as we finished, the Amazon driver pulled up with a special delivery for Henry. It was his bright red cape. Everything is now ready for tomorrow. ONE MORE SLEEP until Yarrow Days Parade…
