With only three weeks until the Yarrow Days parade, it is time to get down to finishing things off. Today, we started applying the final coat of sculpt to the cannon. Henry, the art director of this project, liked the idea of embossed flames and wants it to feature bright colours, but with an aged look. We made great progress today with more planned over the long weekend. Stay tuned…
A fun look back
This evening, I came across this fun video that was captured by TJ, one of our workers. The video was produced ten years ago, as we worked on a project bound for Trinidad. It gives a wonderful and fun look into a typical day in the workshop. Ten years later, not much has changed—except for the projects we are working on. You’ll see some familiar faces, but many of our wonderful crew have moved on to their dreams since then, too. https://youtu.be/zPGV_LRIBOM?si=QA3ugaEDlokPonqH
Wall to wall work
It was full blast ahead with the entire crew in the shop today, working on a variety of projects. The big, lower section of the pirate tower was finished today, and the sculpting crew got a good start on the top crown for the tower. I was welding up a new crow for our friends at Kraay’s Family Farm while Keith began fabricating another large piece for Vala’s Pumpkin Patch.
