I isn’t prudent for me to be around our crew this week since I am still isolating (on account of COVID), but I can sneak out to the work site at night to see what they have been up to. The Hazelnut Inn is even more magical when the sun sets. I was struck by the beauty of the Under Hill facade in the dark. It is still a construction site, but it does look pretty fabulous already!
Dining for two
There will be ample opportunity to create special memories in every corner of the Under Hill Suite at the Hazelnut Inn. Imagine sharing a meal at a table for two in the cozy nook. When the room is finished, the lighting will come from a charming Tiffany lamp over the table and tiny twinkling lights that will be suspended from the giant spikes driven into the twisted roots. Our crew is working diligently to make sure everything will be ready for June 2025. https://hazelnut.directbookings.ca
In the doghouse
I returned from Florida energized, inspired and eager to get back to work after a little more than a week on the road. I was a little tuckered from jet lag and walking the endless floor of the IAAPPA EXPO, but I figured one day, taking it a little easy would take care of things. But on Sunday evening, I started to get the sniffles and, in an abundance of caution, took a COVID test to make sure I was protecting those I love. Sadly, it came back positive, and so I was instantly relegated to the guest room for a few days. I already knew most of my week would be at my design desk, but being locked down and being forced to sit still is a whole other matter. The good news is that I’ve already managed to complete eight design concepts already, and it is only DAY ONE! It is going to be a long and productive week!
