It was a busy day in the shop as we welded on the waterwheel paddles and then disassembled the two halves. We gently tipped them vertically, one at a time and did the final welds on the bottom side. Then we fabricated a stand to which we will bolt the waterwheel halves for safe and secure transport. By quitting time today the waterwheel was ready to move out of the shop. Tomorrow we’ll do a complete clean and sweep and then start on a new set of projects. Stay tuned for much more…
Commemorative prints
Booking a room at the Hazelnut Inn will be an experience that is truly unique and very special in every way imaginable. We are currently dreaming up even more ways to take the experience over the top. Visiting guests will be presented with a limited edition print to commemorate their stay. The print edition is very small and will be unique to this suite. When this limited edition of prints runs out we will create a new drawing from which a different print will be created.
Ready for the last concrete pour
Each day we stroke off a few more items that need completion to open the first suite of the Hazelnut Inn. We bent and welded up the final concrete forms for the North Star garden this afternoon. That polished off the last welding project on the upper level and meant we could finally take the welder and related metalworking tools back to the shop. The weather looks good on Thursday and Friday, so the last of the sidewalks will hopefully be poured this week. The curved walkway looks great and with the landscaping will be a welcoming and relaxing outdoor oasis for the suite. Stay tuned for the last concrete pour reveal…
