It isn’t often a bathroom is truly themed to match the other rooms in a hotel but the three bathrooms of Hazelnut Inn will be beautiful exceptions. We will still make it functional and easy to care for by using lots of colourful ceramic tile and smooth plaster on the balance of the surfaces. Peter finished installing the cement board backing which will be under the tile this afternoon. The specialty tile is all on order and as soon as it arrives we’ll begin the installation. Stay tuned…
Getting there in style
We are still keeping very busy with new concept designs as we, with our clients explore some exciting projects for the coming year(s). One of these is a pumpkin wagon. This would be a very fun project to fabricate without a doubt. Who wouldn’t want to capture a selfie seated in this beauty?
First frame done
The first phase of a project is to design and weld up the structural frames. The large entry wall project at NEB’s needs to be more precise than most of our projects because the thirty-five pieces have to fit together without unsightly gaps and they have to fit into an existing space. As we fabricate these structural frames we need to be mindful of how they will be fastened into place and how we will safely transport and lift them in perfect balance. Each section needs to be rigid and light but still strong enough to carry thousands of pounds of sculpted concrete. Kieth and Neil worked hard this week to finish the first piece.
