Mission completed!

It was another busy day at the Imagination Corporation as we moved the balance of the finished pieces to Castle Fun Park. This morning it was cold and wet. We started with the largest and heaviest piece, weighing just under 13,000 pounds. It measured twenty-four feet long, eight feet tall and ten feet tall. As we did yesterday with the first three loads, once we arrived on site we transferred the individual pieces from the transport truck onto the crane truck for the short 150-yard journey to the work site. By three o’clock all of the pieces were on site and everyone was back in the warm and dry shop. The finished pieces will be stored at Castle Fun Park until it is time to begin construction, hopefully, sometime next year.

Huge day!

Today was the day we’ve been waiting for. We’ve been working on designing and sculpting the many features of the Secret Garden Golf at Castle Fun Park for almost a year. As each large feature was completed it was gently moved from the shop and out into our parking lot. They became a fixture and part of the landscape, a familiar, welcoming friend we visited each day as we walked out to the shop at the back of our property. Today, starting near the road, we hooked each piece and gingerly lifted them onto the semi-trailer. We loaded three features on each load, tied them down securely, and headed fourteen miles down the road. When we got to the large parking lot at the park we would transfer a single piece to the crane truck and then slowly drive to the site and unload once again. The big semi truck and trailer simply wouldn’t fit into the tight workspace. After transferring each load we’d head back to the shop for the next bunch. In eight hours we managed three trips and moved half of the completed features. Tomorrow the task begins anew.
