Janis & I do Disneyland differently than most folks. We like to get into the parks at a reasonable hour (we are on vacation). We spend the morning together, enjoying our favourite attractions. We then have lunch together and enjoy another attraction or two before Janis returns to the hotel for a break during the day's heat and busiest time. The afternoon is my chance to explore everything in-depth, see what’s new, take lots of photos and continue my education from the true masters of this craft. I’ve found that sitting on just about any bench in the park for ten or fifteen minutes and simply looking will allow me to discover things I’ve never taken notice of previously. My sketchbook is always at the ready for when I’m inspired to make a quick sketch or jot down some thoughts. I love to design in a creative place and Disneyland is just as good as our studio - even better with the warm sunshine! At supper time Janis returns to the park for dinner and then we are off enjoying more attractions through the evening. It’s the perfect combination of work and play - just like all of my days!
Woodgrain Finished!
The Troll-tree’s exposed woodgrain is now finished. Next up is the Troll-tree bark! It won’t be long and we will be finished pre-construction for Castle Fun Park’s new outdoor miniature golf course. Stay tuned…
Ready for Mud!
Our troll has been waiting patiently and his tree is finally ready for mud. We will proceed in two stages — first we will place and carve the exposed wood grain and then finish off with the bark. Before you know it he’ll be ready for his first coats of paint — bright and colourful! Stay tuned…
