Gates!

The work continues on the Hazelnut Inn and each week another few pieces of the giant puzzle are put in place. Each new piece is critical for the one that follows. This week it was the high painting and the gate that was done. The gate openers and controls are next which will be followed by the final themed post, the curbs and sidewalks and then the cobblestone driveway. As each piece is completed the final picture quickly comes together. Stay tuned for more…

First base coat

I got back from Nebraska late Friday night. Saturday was spent catching up on things I’d missed during the week. I finally peeked into the shop this afternoon and loved what I saw. Many of the crew were gone last week but work was accomplished nonetheless. The Magical Garden gnome sign was fully sculpted and base coated. It will be beautiful when all the colours go on this coming week! Stay tuned…

Reaching for the sky

Peter spent a bunch of his time this week up in a man lift painting the final high bits of the Hazelnut Inn exterior. These last unpainted pieces were on the ship stern and a chimney on the large tower roof. Everything else was done on a scaffold but these could only be safely reached with a lift. The Inn is looking better every day!
