When the giant, magical studio doors swing open something fun is going to be pulled out. This morning I chuckled with glee as we carefully hooked up the forklift and gently extracted the giant purple dragon. This one is definitely ‘out there’! Long ago I gave up worrying about what we might design and build that would top the current project. We somehow manage to continually raise the bar with every piece. We also know that some projects in the queue are every bit as wild. Stay tuned…
Looking forward to the Monday morning shuffle
The studio is still chock full of all manner of creations in all stages of fabrication. This twisted and gnarly tree is getting its final base colours before we move on to the blends and glazes. It will soon be bound for NEB’s Fun World in Oshawa. Tomorrow, we’ll pull a number of completed features out into the parking lot. Then we’ll do a complete sweep and re-organize of the shop in preparation for a very busy week. As always, the vacated spaces will be quickly filled with new structures as we begin a whole new set of projects. Stay tuned…
Pencil me in
The heavy-duty structural steel which forms the castle bridge which will soon be bound for NEB’s Fun World is now complete. That means, it is time to weld on the thousands of lineal feet of pencil rod which defines the final shape. The galvanized mesh will come after that, followed by the sculpted concrete. We are hoping to begin the sculpting by the end of next week. Stay tuned…
