We are very excited about Monday for it is the long awaited day of the ‘lift’ at the Hazelnut Inn. The man lift is sitting ready. The crane truck is scheduled to arrive bright and early. Our plan of action is thought out. The numerous pieces are all lined up and ready to go. Eight major pieces will be set in place on the Inn on Monday including the tallest castle tower and its roof, multiple roof caps, the mast of the ship, some ‘historic’ artifacts and much more. Big visual changes will happen Monday. Stay tuned…
Second Pie Barn sign
We made great progress on the second sign for the Pie Barn today. Matt welded up the giant bracket while I worked on the armature for the tree stump. Tomorrow I’ll finish off the armature and mount the rolling pin which is routed from Precision Board. This smaller rolling pin measures fifty-two inches long. Next up will be the galvanized lath and then the sculpted concrete. Stay tuned for more progress…
Still rolling
The gigantic Pie Barn rolling pin sign is taking shape quickly. Today, Matt finished welding the armature frame and stand and we mounted the steel letters to the front of the pin on standoff rods. The letters are cut from 1/4” thick steel. We routed a jig to make sure they were perfectly spaced. The lath will be hand tied behind the lettering prior to finishing off the back. Once that job is done we can get on with sculpting the wood grained skin of the rolling pin.
