The great pumpkin adventure.

I’m on the road for a few days to the US Midwest to visit a very fun pumpkin farm. My task will be to consult with the owners and help them dream up new ideas to attract even more visitors to their farm in coming years. It is a very exciting project! My laptop and iPad are loaded with pictures of our past projects and my head is full of fun possibilities. First, we’ll do a tour of the existing operation and I’ll do lots of listening in order to learn as much as I can about pumpkins and their past experience of running the impressive and popular farm. Then, we’ll begin dreaming up some new plans. I’ve brought along a fun little sample piece - a name plaque for my host. It’s the beginning of the great pumpkin adventure!

Becke and the lady

Today, Becke finished working her magic on the caryatid making one more ‘artifact’ ready for installation at the Hazelnut Inn. The multi-layered paints and glazes transforms the carving to appear to be stone instead of high density urethane. The eclectic collection is growing very quickly but there are still many more pieces to come. This piece will be mounted to the outside of the bay window on the bathroom of the North Star suite.

Five more done

Last week we kept the CNC router humming as it whittled out various creative projects. Each time there was some spare material left on the sheet I added a few more name plaques which will be presented to the folks who are attending our fall Sculpture Magic Workshop. There are still two spots left if anyone wishes to attend. Info can be found on the Workshop page of our website at www.imaginationcorporation.com/sculpting-workshop
