Axed

During the Sculpting Magic Workshop Peter and I did three sample pieces. The theme of the workshop was story telling and we were illustrating the ‘authentic’ fictionalized history of the North Star Suite of the Hazelnut Inn. The ‘owner’ of the suite was a gatherer and collector of ancient artifacts from around the globe. We were designing and fabricating a few of her priceless treasures. One of these pieces was an archaic elephant axe. I had a lot of fun designing and creating the piece, complete with a giant, priceless ruby (dollar store plastic jewel) which will be mounted in the forehead mount. Becke is doing the awesome painting and glazing to bring it to life.

2018 workshop final day

The 2018 Sculpture Magic Workshop is now finished. We had a wonderful group and our crew performed incredible wonders as we shared all we knew with our guests. Projects of every description were created in three very full days. The talented people who attended also shared their unique skills with everyone resulting in an amazing time of learning. The long days flew by in a flash and everyone left energized and and eager to continue their shared experience. I look forward to keeping in touch and seeing where everyone goes from this point. Once again I need to thank each of our hard working crew who made it all possible!

Day two - Sculpture Magic Workshop

Day two was exciting with everyone in full blast mode on a wide variety of exciting and imaginative projects. We stopped only briefly to eat wonderful meals and take the group picture. It’s a good sized group with twenty student plus our eight crew members. Most of the projects are nearing the end of the sculpting stage with a number already becoming more colourful as the paint is applied. Tomorrow, we’ll be wrapping up all the projects and doing our best to answer all of the questions. It sure is a fun group!
