Our award winning trade show booth, soon to be bound for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions EXPO in Orlando, Florida is now polished and packed in readiness for pickup tomorrow. It’s only six short weeks until the show!
Round and round we go
One of the things we often do is cut large pieces of steel into small bits and then weld them back together again in all sorts of interesting shapes. Today’s project was to weld the pre-cut I-beams into a giant circular beam which will hold up the roof of the biggest tower in the Copper Crown suite. We’ll soon be welding up a second large circular beam for the North Star suite as well as a bunch of other cool structural steel.
Moving tower
I moved the Hazelnut Inn castle tower by myself today (using the tractor). The swivel wheels on the dolly made it a bit tricky as the long piece tended to steer wherever it wished, but slow and easy was the order of the day and I got it outside into the parking lot without mishap. The tower is now ready to lift into place on Wednesday along with the giant sections of the ship. We’ll use the entire crew to steer when we pull it onto the road and over to the property next door.
