Pink popsicles

The last of the exterior trim on the house is now in production at last. 'Hearts' is the theme throughout and is evidenced by thousands of hearts, large and small, obvious and not throughout. On the tip of each of the 39 knees which are under the soffits a pink heart will be fastened. I finished sculpting the last of them today and then drilled and glued on a dowel. These are temporarily stuck into some stands like a popsicle for painting, upside down. As soon as the painting is done I'll drill the knees and fasten them permanently into place

Riding the coaster!

Juniper, now two and a half years old, gets less timid each day and has a definite independent streak that will serve her well when she gets older. Today she visited Cultus Lake Adventure Park with her parents to go on a few rides. Normally it's the kiddy rides she enjoys but today she decided she was ready for the Runaway Train roller coaster. As she approached the top of the first hill she was a little fearful of the height but her daddy assured her all was well. It was pure enjoyment for the rest of the ride as they roared through the twists and turns and she was eager to GO AGAIN very soon! Our next generation of park builders is definitely getting into the groove!

First rough grades

I spent a good part of the day on our little tractor with the front end loader. I was establishing the rough grade of the front yard of the Hazelnut Inn and also dumping fill sand into the walkway behind the curved wall. This wall defines the pathway up to the North Star suite. The tall semi circle wall behind the lower front one defines the height of the upper garden for this suite. More square walls will be cast in place in the next few weeks to hold back the fill we will add in this area. A 42 inch wall will be built on top of this for privacy and safety making this garden to have a grand view and offer total privacy from those passing by on the rod or sidewalk. It is very exciting to see our plan become real!
