Our friends, Jacob and Lizzie, from Colorado dropped in for a visit this weekend. I had the pleasure of showing them around our area and we squeezed a lot of fun into one day of adventures. Jacob was last here four years ago when we were building the first phase of the Cultus Lake Adventure Park. The park was definitely a construction site then and he was pleased to enjoy the finished park.
Fast work!
Work is progressing quickly on the Hazelnut Inn work site! Today our task was to build the last concrete block wall. It was a tricky one as it was curved but after a week of practice and laying many hundreds of blocks we are getting very fast. The day seemed to fly by and before we knew it we were done! 😀
Underhill garden walls in place
It was with great delight that I laid the last block on the Underhill suite garden wall. Concrete blocks are heavy and rough and my hands and back are really going to like taking a break from masonry work! With the garden walls now clearly defined we can get a good sense of the space of the garden. The extensive theme work will take up a fair amount of the room but the lushly landscaped garden will be the perfect size for a couple to enjoy some private time together.
