TEDx display

Last year about this time I was honoured and privileged to give a TED TALK . It was very challenging but also a lot of fun. After last year's event I volunteered to make the stage presentation for this year's event. The design is strictly governed by the TED organization and so there was little wiggle room for us. But we could make the TEDx Chilliwack sign as large as needed for the stage. I measured up the stage a few weeks ago and it was large! We decided the sign could be twenty-four feet wide. I cut the letters this week and built the backdrop. This weekend i am painting the letters in preparation for final assembly and delivery this week. This section of the display measures eight feet wide. I'll post another photo as we finish assembly in the next couple of days.

Tree bug

The crew finished the sculpting on five of the mechanical bugs today. They look fabulous! With the structural steel now all hidden the bugs really look like they are straining to hold up the giant wooden globe. Now we are full blast into paint. By the end of next week we should be ready to ship these pieces to the PNE. We can hardly wait!
