My Sign Challenge piece is now starting to be very colourful. There is still a fair amount of sculpting to be done but the piece is quickly coming together.
Chable!
As we designed and constructed our trade show booth for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions convention next year we wanted to build in a table for demonstrations. The table also needed a stool with both being much higher than normal to allow for eye level contact with our guests who were walking by. Both pieces are welded onto a swivelling corner post. As each piece was added we took the CHABLE (chair/table) for a test drive, making sure the heights were perfect and that everything worked together correctly. The last additions were the little side table (for the paints and supplies) and the foot rest. After a very busy week of cutting, fitting, welding and grinding the booth structure is now complete. Now it is on to the myriad of extra special details which will ensure this booth is like none other. Stay tuned...
GOLD!
We absolutely love our modern computer operated tools. But we also use tried and true old school methods as well when it's appropriate. All of our painting in the shop is done by hand - with a brush. It just suits our style and adds a special magic that can't be achieved any other way. We also love to use real 23K gold leaf on various projects when the need arises. Nothing comes close to the brightness and shine of real gold. Below, Angie carefully applies the gold leaf to the lettering on one of the panels for Peter's Sign Challenge piece.
