Trade Show Booth

Work continues on the trade show booth. A table and seat are to be hung off of one of the corner posts. We'll be doing a sculpting and painting demonstration on this small round table during the exposition. We know from experience that everybody loves to watch a project come together. The table and chair brackets echo the same shapes of the large end beams of the booth.

From the ground up

It's always fun to do the fancy decorative parts of a project but before we can do those things we have to start with a very firm foundation. For the trade show booth we needed to make it strong enough to withstand many thousands of miles of travel and to be able to be handled without fear of damage. My dad always laughs when he sees our construction, always thinking it much, much too heavy... but I believe there's no such thing as too strong. This frame certainly qualifies.

The bottom section of the booth needed to have forklift pockets built in. Because it will be handled by others without our supervision we could leave nothing to chance. The booth can be picked up from any side or end and should be able to withstand just about anything imaginable. It is able to be fastened down to the transport truck bed by throwing the chains through the pockets.. Now the fun begins as we build up from the sturdy base.

Magic box

We've decided to participate in the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions massive trade show next year as vendors and not merely as spectators. To do so is a major undertaking, even for a small ten foot booth. We want to make sure we make a fabulous showing, and take full advantage of that small space. Over the last week we have been thinking about what our display might look like. What would we bring? The answer is we will build a very special box in which we will full with the MAGIC we create in our studio on a daily basis. We have well over a hundred samples lining the walls of our studios. We'll simply bring the very best ones and display them in a magical setting that is sure to stop all who pass by. We've finished designing the show space and will soon begin fabrication. Stay tuned to watch it unfold...
