Peter has been spending some time on his Sign Challenge piece as well. The box fabrication is now pretty much complete and he is starting work on the upper portion of the display. Peter is using the piece to get up to speed with new computer programs, the CNC plasma cutter and the router. It will also feature lots of handwork with some new techniques explored along the way. Sample pieces are a wonderful and fun way to learn new things!
Starting paint
Bit by bit the Sign Challenge piece is coming together. The rocket is now sculpted complete with hatches, doors, stabilizer jets and other details. The first colour is now going on. One of the last three vehicles is half sculpted with two more vehicles remaining as well as our resident sign man in a space suit. I can hardly wait to get into the paint details. I want to try some fun new things in order to add some real character.
Train models complete
Today Jenessa glued on the last of the small pieces and painted on the final brush strokes of paint to finish off the two train models. She then glued the bases on and they were done! We still await the final measurements so we can begin the construction of the full size train.
