Two days and counting

The workshops are now just around the corner. The samples the students will work with are all prepared. The name plaques are getting their final touches. The shop has been cleaned from top to bottom. We are almost ready.

We've stocked up on all the supplies we need and begun final prepartions for the sculpting workshop as well which begins next week. Those preparations will be tucked away until just before the workshop starts. Today Matt and I began welding the tree structures. The students will take the projects from this point, welding up the substructure, through to final sculpt.

We'll be taking lots of pictures through the workshops. I'll post a report of two along the way. Stay tuned...

Moving day

With the workshops beginning in a few days the pressure is on to finish off the shop work and get the large pieces out the door. I finished welding the top of the steam donkey and also the ball drop out of the boiler. Then I fired up the tractor and pulled it out of the shop to join the other pieces out in the yard.

Now everything else needs sorting out, cleaning and putting away. It's only a few more days until the fun begins...

And more yet

The last days have been crazy as we race to getting ready for the workshops. In the new house things are looking so good as everybody works so hard to wrap things up. In the shop we are busy too. Three last minute guests signed up, meaning we needed three more name plaques in a hurry. They were designed and routed today.
