Details... details... details

At the end of every project it is down to details. The small brushes come out and we sneak in real close to our work to catch every little thing that needs attention. Today it was the truck's turn. Sarah and Hailey spent the day painting the chrome trim and third coating little bits and pieces to make them right.

The little truck is almost complete. We are waiting for the delivery of the batteries to finish the wiring and then take it for a test run. Stay tuned for the final reveal...

Rolling again.

Today we painted additional coats of paint, blocking in the big areas of color. As the big areas were finished we started in on the smaller areas. The freshly painted wheels were reinstalled and the truck came off the jackstands.

Now we are down to the details. The signs for both sides are cut and base coated.

Making it bright.

The little dump truck is like most of our projects in that it seems to require endless work and effort to bring it from the beginning stages and through the prep work to the paint. Then, in a hurry it seems to come together as the paint goes on. Tonight the first coats of color were brushed on. Hailey painted the red while Bec and I started in on the other colors.

In a couple of hours we had covered the truck with one coat of paint.

We'll let it dry overnight and then hit it again tomorrow. The new batteries have been ordered and the hydraulics are ready to be hooked up. We'll be test driving shortly.
