The rowboat & Kraken structure is coming along nicely. We started with a 3/8” baseplate, welding the 3” x 3” base frame to it and then the uprights for the Kraken legs. Next, we cut and fit the curved rim to the baseplate. This 1/8” x 3” steel was cut to its curved shape on the Fastcut CNC plasma so it would slope out to match the rowboat hull. We shaped and welded smaller rings to the base of the Kraken arms. This week Matt & Jay will weld up the pencil-rod armature for the rowboat, and then we will begin the tentacle structures.
