Canada has long been referred to as the Great White North. That may well be true of many parts of Canada, but the reality is that here in the Lower Mainland on the West Coast, we don’t see much snow most years. While cold weather is still very likely this season, it was sunny and balmy today. I spent the day doing yard work and cleanup after the removal of the walnut tree last week. As I finished those tasks, I noticed the lawn was looking kind of scruffy, and I had just the right amount of time to give it the first mow of 2026.
