As the last job of a very busy week, we tackled the texture coat on the second Caryatid for the Copper Crown at the Hazelnut Inn. The pressure was on as the painting crew was almost finished with the ceiling in the castle, and it wouldn’t be long until the scaffold came down. Grant mixed the sculpting epoxy while Henry and I pressed on a thin layer. When Henry got tired of that job, he used a stiff brush to apply the texture by poking it repeatedly over every square inch. He worked hard and did a great job while doing a running commentary of the progress. On Monday, we will apply the first coat of paint before the statues get hoisted into position. Stay tuned…
