It has taken many months of work to build the structure, rough the electrical boxes and conduits, frame the details, insulate, board, lath and then do the intricate sculpting in the concrete skin. Smaller details such as electrical outlet vent plates and curtain rods were all designed, hand crafted and then installed. Painting has taken weeks, with three base coats plus the many glazes all carefully and skillfully applied. Today it all came together as the painters finished their work. We’ll do a thorough clean of this area and then the concrete tub surround will be formed and poured in place. It won’t be long until our tiling crew begins the fancy floor and bathroom walls. This will complete the upper bedroom reaches of the Copper Crown castle suite.
Just outside the bedroom the process begins anew as our talented crew finishes the lathing and begins to hand sculpt the detailed arched ceiling and then work their way down the ‘stone’ walls. Stay tuned…
