Typically, you would skin a turkey from the outside in but in our shop we do it in opposite direction. We began by welding up a quick steel armature, then added the galvanized mesh. Then, we applied a thin skin of sculpting epoxy. Once the entire shape is covered I will go back and fill in the details and add the feathers. On our first day of the turkey build Matt and I made great progress. There are actually two turkeys in progress, with the twin armature visible behind the first, as the two signs are back to back on the temporary stand. This is a very fun build!
