We are doing a sign for our local restaurant (where they serve FABULOUS FOOD!) The business is named after the same mountain I get to admire from my studio windows each day. In fact the reference photo for the relief carving was taken from my deck.

The concept for the sign was easy and came to me quickly. I presented the drawing to the client which they loved. But they asked me to include a motorcycle and rider in the sign as the husband loves to ride on the mountain... hence the name of the business. I struggled with including the image in the sign... it just didn’t work. I tried a wide variety of ideas without success. Then it came to me. I would incorporate a plasma cut steel silhouette of the motorcycle as part of the bracket that held up the sign. The dirt spinning off the back wheel became a traditional flourish. While still part of the sign it suddenly worked.

The client liked it. Stay tuned as we fabricate this new sign.
