I chuckle each time I speak to someone I know from the midwest in the USA this time of year. While they are just now starting to see the first signs of spring it is in full bloom here. Most people south of us can’t get over that in spite of living in the north - Canada we enjoy a much more moderate climate all year around.. The reason is because we live near the west coast and the warm ocean currents keep our temperatures warm in the winter months.

Spring is my favorite season... and it’s extra early this year. In fact I’ve already mowed our lawn four times - a task I enjoy a great deal.

The Winter Olympics were held just west of us about 60 miles a couple of weeks ago. Due to warmer than normal temperatures this year they actually had to truck snow to the ski hill where many of the events were held. Here an hour’s drive away our weather was warmer than normal too. Daffodils, tulips and the fruit trees have been in full bloom for weeks. The trees are sprouting leaves. The mountain out my window is greening up nicely.

Spring has returned to our fair land.
