FLYING HIGH

Flying Car

Moving day is always exciting. The challenge is how to get our weirdly shaped creation on to the trailer, to our clients and into final position in a safe and secure manner. This time as always it was planned from the drawing board. Places to screw in eye bolts were fabricated into the top of the windshield and seat. I whipped up a simple lifting jig and hooked it to the lifting beam that is built into our shop structure. The beam and lift can handle up to three tons. The car weighed in at a measly 525 lbs. I backed the trailer under the load and let it down safely.

The gas pump assembly was loaded in the same fashion. We’ll park it in the shop one last night,

then head out early for the work site.
