Matt and I have spent the last few days completing the welding of the giant armature for the shipwreck feature. It will be the final hole for Cap’n Elias’ Shipwreck Cove Adventure Golf on Vala’s Pumpkin Patch in Nebraska. It is a bit hard to make out at this stage of the project, but this is the stern half of a tall ship with a golfing ramp that slopes up to the transom, complete with a skull carved out of the wood. In the next weeks, the crew will tie on the diamond lath, and we’ll begin sculpting the weathered timbers of the ship. Stay tuned…
Animals painted!
Jay worked hard today and managed to tidy up most of the painting and glazing on the roping horse (Would that make it a painted pony? :) )and Highland cow that will soon be on the way to Kraay’s Family Farm in Lacombe, Alberta. When the animals get to the farm, the kids will sit on the horse and then attempt to rope the cow, which should be a lot of fun!
TEETH!
The front, lower section of the skull rock and front railing posts are now sculpted and ready for paint this coming week. The welding and wiring crew will complete the armature in the next few days, which will allow us to finish off the sculpting on this piece. As soon as it is ready to pull from the shop, we’ll roll in the upper section to complete that work. It is exciting to see this piece take shape!
