The kitchenette-dining nook area of the Copper Crown Suite of the Hazelnut Inn is quickly coming together as Jay lays on the colour and glazes. The shields are almost done as is the wall area behind them. Later this week Matt will begin the tile work through the lower floor. It is exiting to see this long held dream slowly come to life. Coming down the stairs
With the upstairs tile now all in place in the Copper Crown’s bedroom and upper hallway, Matt has begun working his way down the stairs. Like the bedroom, there will be small rectangular border tiles on each side with ‘wood’ tiles in between. He cut, fitted, and glued in the border tiles, and then cut and fitted the larger tiles in between. Whenever Matt is waiting for tiles to set, he keeps himself busy cutting the tiles for the main floor borders. In a couple of weeks, we’ll be dancing on the finished floor. Stay tuned…
Big as life!
We absolutely love building big things, and the bigger, the better! Our good friends at Downey’s Farm asked if we could design a giant photo op that left no doubt as to where their guests were. It will largely be built of steel, with the faces being sculpted concrete for maximum durability. There’s no doubt guests will be all over these as they grab the perfect selfie. We got the green light to proceed this morning. This is going to be fun! Stay tuned…
