We are in the middle of our first fall storm, and the power failed in the afternoon. We dragged out the generator to light up the Copper. Crown Suite for the sculpting crew in the Hazelnut Inn. Peter and I swung open the big shop doors so we could continue working on the mermaid sculpture we are creating for Vala’s Pumpkin Patch. We made great progress despite working in the dark. The figure is now substantially finished, and we will next move on to her hair before we start in on the paint. Stay tuned…
Crown moulding extraordinaire
Work continues at full speed in the Copper Crown Suite of the Hazelnut Inn. Matt and crew have finished the ‘wood’ ceiling and begun sculpting the crown moulding in the cozy kitchen/eating area. This, being an ancient castle, means it can’t be a typical trim. Matt skillfully carves three layers of ‘cut stone’ stacked on top of the plaster and stone wall. This will soon be a magical place to enjoy a snack or meal with someone you love. Stay tuned…
Working our way down
Jay is making fabulous progress on the upper portions of the Copper Crown Suite of the Hazelnut Inn. The painting is now complete in these areas with only the glazes to go. The goal is to be off the scaffold by the end of the workday on Friday. Stay tuned…
