Ready for light up

Our friends, the BNR electricians, are busy in the Copper Crown pulling the wires through the conduits in preparation for the final finishing of the Copper Crown Suite. They are making great progress. In the shop, we are also working on what will be needed once the sculpting and painting are complete. The candlestick light fixtures are just about ready to fasten to the walls. Stay tuned…

Day two of sculpting the skull

It was day two of the sculpting process, and we made great time. Grant’s job was to keep me supplied with mixed sculpting epoxy, and he got a good workout. The first job was to apply a first coat of epoxy to the double-sided three-cornered hat. Then it was on to the reverse side of the skull. A little dramatic lighting made for a great picture. It won’t be long until this project is ready for paint. Stay tuned…

Eye see you!

We have a lot of fun in our shop - as it should be. There is a lot of joking and the occasional prank. Today, when I came back from lunch and went to work on the Shipwreck Cove, I had to take a second look, along with a big laugh. Jay had grabbed a Sharpie and drawn some eyes on a couple of lids and placed them in the eye sockets of the skull. They changed the character of the sign!
