Fixture base coated
With this past Tuesday being a stat holiday, it was a short work week. Nevertheless, the painting crew made great progress on the Copper Crown Suite’s upper walls and ceiling and the base coats of the chandelier. They are ready for the glazes. On Monday, the electrician arrives to begin pulling the wires through the conduits, so we have no time to waste before he is ready to hook up the fixture, which we will soon hoist into position. By week’s end, things are going to look a whole lot different. Stay tuned…
Week of travel done
It has been a very busy week of travel! Tuesday was spent getting to the Vancouver airport and then a direct flight to Toronto. The car rental company gave me a very comfortable Mercedes SUV for my driving duties. I headed to Oshawa in rush hour traffic for a quick visit to NEB’s Fun World and then back west to Brampton for the first night. I dropped in on the good folks at Downey’s Family Farm on Wednesday morning before heading North to Kreemore for a quick visit with my brother. Then it was time to head west for a night in St. Thomas. I headed over to Aylmer on Thursday morning to visit our friends at Clovermead Farm before heading east to get to the BOCSI Award Gala in Niagara Falls. This morning, it was time to navigate the freeways of Ontario one last time to get back to the airport for my afternoon flight back home. I got back into Vancouver just in time to do a rush hour commute back to the Fraser Valley. I drove just over a thousand kilometres and flew almost 7,000 kilometres in four days. I had a lot of fun and thoroughly enjoyed the trip, but the best part was pulling back into our driveway.
