With Vala’s pirate ship now largely under control, some crew headed back out to the Copper Crown at the Hazelnut Inn to do some sculpting. The last of the ceiling and beams are now sculpted, and they are working their way down the front wall. Next week, the painting crew will do the painting and it won’t take long until we dismantle the scaffolding for good. Stay tuned…
Ship's finishing touches
It is exciting to see the pirate ship nearing completion. All of the base colours and glazes are now complete. Jay spent his day doing the last touch-ups and small details. One more day will finish things off. The ship is colourful and fun, and will be a stunning centrepiece in the pirate area of Vala’s Pumpkin Patch in Nebraska. This has been a fun project from the very beginning.
Last of the pirate concrete
While the painting crew worked outside on the largest piece of Vala’s pirate ship, Matt and I welded, wired and mudded the last of the remaining sections of the mast. We’ve now been at this project for six and a half weeks, with two or three weeks to go before we are done. The weatherman is promising rain for the next couple of weeks, and we have plenty of work in the warm and dry shop to keep the crew busy. Stay tuned…
