Ceiling splendor

The painting crew are going full blast as they colour up the upper reaches of the Copper Crown Suite at the Hazelnut Inn. The blended coats of paint are all on, and the team is beginning the glazes. It is looking FABULOUS already! At the current rate of progress, the top layer of the scaffold on this side of the room should be dismantled by the middle of next week. In the bathroom, the tiling crew is busy cutting and placing the intricate patterns to make it as elegant as the other suites of the Hazelnut Inn. The ambitious mantra is ‘Castle by Christmas’, but we’ll have to wait and see… Stay tuned…

Deck is on

Between other duties, I did a bunch more welding and fabricating on Vala’s sailing ship. Save for a few braces, the lower and deck structures are now complete. Just before quitting time, we pressed our Fastcut CNC Plasma into service to cut the deck plates. Three inches of concrete will be poured on top to form the mini-golf fairway. It won’t take long to weld the steel plates into place, and then I can go vertical on the stern and bow of the ship at long last. Pretty soon, we will start the fanciful pencil rod armature to form the detailed hull of the ship. Stay tuned…
