Work on the Copper Crown continues throughout the suite. Our goal is to finish the themed construction in the courtyard and complete the landscaping before the summer ends. Work continues on the interior of the suite as well. Peter is currently working on finishing the pond and the drawbridge. As is often the case, much of the work involves the hidden infrastructure, such as plumbing, electrical, filters and pumps.
New wheels
I bought my first Alter Ego Sidekick e-bike almost six years ago. Since then, I have ridden it over two thousand, two hundred kilometres (fourteen hundred miles). Ninety-nine percent of that travel has been on bumpy dirt and gravel trails at a quick pace. The e-bike is getting a little tired and needs a rebuild and tune. The good folks at Alter Ego Bikes are taking care of that work. When I get my old bike back, it will be my backup bike, which I will use when friends travel with me.
With my original bike in the shop for a bit, it was time to pick up a shiny new one as my primary bike. I still love my old Sidekick and wanted another just like it. Happily, Alter Ego Bikes has made many improvements since my last purchase without increasing the price significantly. Blue is the colour of choice for this go-around. It has a suspension front and rear to make the ride much smoother on the trails. I got in my first twenty-kilometre ride in tonight, and the new bike made me smile even more than the old one. It is going to be a FUN summer!
Ready to ship
The last piece to get finished for this year’s order bound for Vala’s Pumpkin Patch in Nebraska is the sculpture for Elias’ Pirate Ship entrance tower. It and a few other pieces will be mounted to the final shipping frame tomorrow, making the order ready to be loaded on the truck in July, on schedule. As is the case most often, it is nice not to be in a mad rush with overtime hours to complete our projects.
