NEB's Fun World entry wall fully installed

It is always great to work with a client who is as passionate about our projects as we are. We’ve worked with the awesome team at NEB’s Fun World in Oshawa, Ontario since 2016. Through the years we have partnered with them to change the face of their large indoor entertainment facility. We start with concept drawings, a back and forth process that ensures everything works both visually and practically. They then take careful measurements to make sure everything we design and build in our shop, 3,400 kilometres distant will fit perfectly.

Then we do the fabrication over many months and when the NEBs team is ready, we load it onto trucks for delivery. Their talented crew takes on the challenge of unloading the enormous and heavy pieces off the trucks. At their end the challenging process has just begun. They need to carefully plan how they will move each piece into the building, transport it to the location and then carefully fit and fasten it into place. The pieces weigh from a few hundred pounds up to 10,000 lbs depending on their size.

The challenge is that this is a fully operational indoor theme park, open twelve hours a day, three hundred and sixty-five days a year. Tom, Jeff and the crew aren’t fond of working night shift, so this means they need to be super organized and efficient in the early morning hours before the facility opens to the public. They first check measurements meticulously, make necessary adjustments and then plan each move to work as a team on these tricky moves.

As each piece is slid into place Tom kindly snaps a picture or video and sends it off to me for a regular update. The two phases of the entrance walls which measure approximately 100 feet long and 34 feet tall are now installed and they changed the face of the facility in a dramatic fashion. It took the combined effort of two great teams to work together.

We will sit and admire the work for a minute… then we begin to eagerly look forward to the next project that is already planned and approved. Stay tuned…

Twelve day countdown

In twelve short days, the Under Hill Suite at the Hazelnut Inn will swing open its doors to welcome guests for our open house. Our crew is busy, taking care of every small detail to ensure everything will be perfect. Last year, more than one thousand four hundred people marvelled at the North Star Suite. This suite is every bit as magical. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Almost ready!

Becke is working her magic, putting together all of the bits and pieces to decorate the Under Hill Suite of the Hazelnut Inn. Peter created some digital artwork, which is being printed on canvases and will be fitted into the frames this week. Outside in the private garden, the planting is almost finished. This week, they will finalize the details. There are only thirteen sleeps left until the Open House on June 7.
