With only forty-five days until the June 7 open house for the Under Hill Suite of the Hazelnut Inn, we are down to the small details. Our friends from BNR Electric are busy installing the final fixtures and switches. They also took the time to hook up the outdoor gas fireplace, which our guests will surely enjoy.
Apple sign finishing touches
The Aunt Kelsey’s Apple Tree Swing sign bound for Vala’s Pumpkin Patch and Apple Orchard is almost complete. It sits on the same shipping frame as the Peter the Pumpkin Eater feature. Both pieces will get their final paint and glazes this coming week. Then they will be pulled from the shop to make room for exciting new projects. Stay tuned…
Learning on the fly
Sometimes, we don’t get things perfect on our first try. We always review our projects as we create them, making adjustments on the fly. It isn’t unusual for us to see something not quite right. On those occasions, we cut off or change whatever is needed to make it right. Most often, it is a minor change that is easily remedied. When Kraay’s Family farm saw the pictures of the ‘finished’ crow chandelier, they asked us to change the colour of the crows’ beaks and feet to make them more lifelike. We happily complied, and within a few hours, I sent along pictures of the new look. Our customer was delighted.
