It was another landmark day at the Hazelnut Inn as the first concrete sculpting on the interior of the Copper Crown began. Matt troweled and sculpted the concrete onto the ‘wooden’ ring beam of the tower over the bedroom. The painted portion of the upper tower was prefabricated in the shop years ago as we assembled the building structure. Now, it is time to finish the rest of the suite. This is the view guests will enjoy as they lay in the king-sized bed. Soon, we’ll begin fabricating an elegant, custom-made chandelier to hang in the tower space. Tomorrow, Matt will start on the diagonal beams; by the end of the week, we might have the ceiling sculpted. Stay tuned…
Shop Sabre video taping
It was a delight to welcome Jeremy & Erica from Shop Sabre to our studio today so they could tape an interview for their ‘Out and About’ video series. They were true professionals, with obvious passion for their craft. Their job was to record a peek at a few of our router projects and tell the story of our CNC routing journey, focusing on the latest chapter with our new Shop Sabre machine.
I enjoyed sharing our unique story and hope the resulting video will showcase the magic these machines are capable of. I look forward to seeing the finished product as Jeremy boils down all the footage he got into a short concise piece. As soon as the video is released (in six to eight weeks) I’ll post a link here for all to see. Stay tuned…
'Out and about'
Tomorrow morning, we’ll be hosting Jeremy from Shop Sabre CNC as we create a video for their series called ‘Out and About.’ In this series, they tour shops around North America with one or more of these excellent machines. I’ve been asked to talk about the unique way we use our CNC router to produce our creations. We have worked up a few sample name tags as examples. I’m looking forward to this opportunity!
