Last year, we were delighted to design a new exit/retail barn for our friends at the Kraay Family Farm in Lacombe, Alberta. Their team spent the winter building the beautiful new barn. The barn interior features a very tall vaulted ceiling. They reached out to us to design and fabricate a one-of-a-kind chandelier for the centrepiece. We dreamed up this driftwood oval with three oversized signature Kraay crows perched on the branches. As fun as it was to design this fixture, the build is even better! Stay tuned …

The Vala’s Pumpkin Patch features are getting more colourful each workday as our painting crew works their magic. The base colours and blends are almost done, with the subtle glazes yet to come. Stay tuned to watch them come together…
Barn chandelier
Keith and I spent the day welding the armature for a large, imaginative chandelier for their new entrance barn. It is tricky to visualize at this stage, but the frame is ready for the galvanized steel mesh. Keith will begin that task tomorrow. This chandelier will look like a ring of large driftwood logs with three oversized crows perched on protruding branches. Stay tuned as this project comes together…
