One more day is all we need to finish the sculpting in the Under Hill suite of the Hazelnut Inn. Today, the sculpting crew handles the twisty roots and the last primer coat for the dirt banks. Tomorrow, they will polish off the dirt. The magic of this room is complicated to capture. This shot is roughly from the toilet seat, and the view is breathtaking. To the right will be the shower. The room is a good size for a bathroom, and since this suite has no stairs, it will serve our guests who need such space. Steel plates are embedded into the wall to securely attach the grab handles. The painters are eager to begin their work to make the space even more magical!
Under Hill bathroom progress
The sculpting crew made great progress in the tight confines of the Under Hill bathroom. All beams, rocks and plain plaster areas (eventually under the tile) were completed. Tomorrow, the crew will tackle the gnarly and twisted roots. This area will be sculpted and ready for paint by Friday after it cures over the holidays.
First bathroom sculpting
Today was the first day of the final sculpting in the Under Hill Suite of the Hazelnut Inn. The last area we are doing is the entire bathroom, which is themed from top to bottom, as is the whole suite. As Peter finished off the last of the welding, Matt applied the concrete and sculpted the two heavy beams over the toilet. By the end of the week, we hope to be finished with only the final details (paint and tile) left to finish.
