The first of the glazes was applied to the water feature on Friday. Monday, the final glazing will happen to make it ready to lift into place on Tuesday. Tomorrow will be a day of getting everything staged to make crane day efficient and quick. The whole crew is excited to see the big changes to the Hazelnut Inn this coming week.
Overtime magic
It is a rare occurrence that we work overtime in our shop. We have lives outside of business. But this little project needed to be the exception. The gas fire inserts have been ordered for weeks and the promised delivery was still some time out. But we got a surprise phone call late this week letting us know they had arrived which meant with a little extra hustle the fire pit could be lifted on Tuesday when we crane in the last of the features. I got the metal pieces late yesterday and snuck out to the shop this afternoon to assemble them. Julianne cut the fire brick for the deck yesterday so everything is ready for the crane - one day early. There are only sixty-nine days until the open house on June 1!
REAL GOLD!
The final detail on the main sign for the NEB’s signs is the gold leaf on the letters. Kendra did the honours today and the result was spectacular in every way. Many pieces in the shop are finished or nearly so. That means a major shuffle next week as we move the finished pieces out and a new set of armatures back in to get sculpted. Stay tuned…
